Rubber Blanket Comparisons

Roll Blankets:

Allow workers to custom-cut blankets to fit each application at the job site. Minimizes the number of different low voltage blanket sizes and shapes that are required to be carried from job to job.

Rubber

Class 0 – Yellow (ESY-1) – 1000 VAC max – 3’x 30′ roll

Class 1 – Orange (ESO-7.5) – 7500 VAC max – 3′ x 30′ roll

PVC

Class 1 – Clear (PVC-7.5) – 7500 VAC max – 3′ x 30′ roll

The rubber blanket style is available in pre-cu sizes as well as by linear feet.

Low Voltage Insulating Blankets:

Superior quality dielectric blankets are designed, manufactured and tested in the United States in strict accordance to current ASTM D1048 specifications.

Rubber

Class 0 – Yellow (BL-C0) – 1000 VAC max – 3′ x 3′ square

Class 2 – Black (CL-C2) – 20 kV AC max – 3′ x 3′ square

Clas 4 – Orange (BL-C4) – 36kV AC max – 3′ x 3′ square

The Class 0 and Class 4 are both Type II rubber, made of ozone-resistant EPDM synthetic rubber. Class 0 us yellow without eyelets and the Class 4 blanket is orange with 6 eyelets. The Class 2 blanket is a Type I, made of natural rubber (polyisoprene) in black with 6 eyelets.

Available as a kit to include the canister and a pair of blanket clamps. The part number is BLK-Cx where x is the class of blanket required.

Arc Suppression Blankets:

Used as a barrier of protection against the effects of electrical arcs and flashes. This is not an electrically insulating blanket which can not and should not be used for electrical protection.

15kA

  • Made of noncombustible material — it will not ignite and burn even when direct flame is applied.
  • Options: Small 4′ x 5′ (ASB-4X5-15) or Large 5′ x 8′ (ASB-5X8-15)

25kA

  • Made of inherently FR fibers — it will only burn as long as there is a source of ignition.
  • Options: Small 4′ x 5′ (ASB-4X5-25 or Large 5′ x 8′ (ASB-5X8-25)
Switchboard Matting:

Switchboard matting is rubber matting designed to insulate workers in high voltage areas. It is used as a floor covering to prevent shock around high voltage electrical apparatuses, fuse boxes, switchgear, control panels, and heavy machinery. This matting meets and exceeds the parameters of ASTM D178. This matting is Type 1 natural rubber which is non-oil, non-ozone, and non-flame retardant.

Class 1 – Black (CPSM316-size) – 20kV max – 36″ or 48″ x 75′ roll

Class 2 – Black (CPSM140-size) – 30kV max – 36″ or 48″ x 75′ roll

Class 3 – Black (CPSM380-size) – 40kV max – 36″ or 48″ x 75′ roll

Class 4 – Black (CPSM120-size) – 50kV max – 36″ or 48″ x 60′ roll
