OSHA AND NFPA(R) have determined that workers inside the arc flash boundary shall wear hearing protection.

Ear canal inserts are the form of hearing protection recognized as they provide the least interference with the use of other PPE to protect the head and face.

Other types of protection are acceptable but MUST be worn under appropriate arc rated material.
